John Walsh Jr.
John Walsh is a Houstonian with a professional career in real estate development, public service, institutional development and leadership roles in a wide range of community oriented civic and cultural programs.
His civic activities include leadership roles in economic development, neighborhood re-development, regional planning, cultural arts, education, conservation, tourism and youth.
In addition to his role on the board of the Partnership, he has served on the boards of community based organizations including, the Houston Northwest Chamber of Commerce. He has been active in development of the University of Houston including serving as chair of the College of Business Administration’s Advisory Board and the College of Social Science’s Center for Public Policy. He founded and chaired the board of NASA’s Manned Space Flight Education Foundation at the Johnson Space Center. His community roles have included membership on the boards of The University of St. Thomas, New Foundations for Neighborhoods, the Cultural Arts Council of Houston and Harris County, the Lake Houston Cultural Arts Council, the Hermann Park Conservancy and the Boy Scouts Sam Houston Area Council.
