Jay Gaut recently retired from 32 years of commercial real estate brokerage where he was the owner and manager of a 7 person brokerage firm in Amarillo, Texas. He has a BBA from UT Austin in 1982. He has lived in Houston for 18 months. He served on the board of a community bank in the Texas Panhandle called First Capital Bank of Texas with offices in Midland, Lubbock, and Amarillo. He also holds two prestigious professional designations in the commercial real estate business called CCIM (Certified Commercial Investment Member) and SIOR (Society of Industrial and Office Realtors). Both are the most respected and difficult designations to obtain in the business. He is on the Advisory Council for the UT School of Social Work. He attends St. Luke’s United Methodist Church and is married with two adult sons. He is able to assist the nonprofits in this area with their commercial real estate needs. These needs could include: office and warehouse space needs either for purchase or lease, valuation of assets that are on the balance sheet, assisting with site selection, environmental issues, zoning, access, title review, property condition analysis, disposition of donated parcels of land and buildings.
