Carlos F. Rawls

Trustee & Consultant

Carlos Rawls is the Director of Manufacturing Engineering at General Plastics & Composites, LP, where he drives continuous improvement initiatives and transformative change in a growing, local business here in Houston. A proud Georgia native, Carlos received a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology, and has previously worked for Toyota’s corporate manufacturing headquarters in North Kentucky, as well as TechnipFMC, here in Houston.

Even since childhood, Carlos has always demonstrated a strong commitment to service by generously offering his time and resources to various charitable organizations and events, including churches, ministries, and notable nonprofits, like the Boys and Girls Club and the United Way. Carlos has demonstrated a growing passion for serving the Greater Houston Community since moving to the area in early 2014. He has been an active Young Leader Donor and Volunteer with the Greater Houston chapter of the United Way, helped to found, and eventually chaired, a diversity-and-inclusion-focused affinity network called BOLD at TechnipFMC, and has supported various STEM initiatives.

Having gained a diverse array of technical and leadership skills since starting his career in the private sector in 2003, Carlos is able to apply keen insight into various aspects of business consulting, process improvement, marketing, and business development to help ESCH offer a pillar of support to its multitude of nonprofit clients. Carlos is a firm believer that making nonprofit agencies more efficient and effective will in turn provide more benefits to the Greater Houston community, and he is excited to contribute to the strategies and plans that will help ESCH deliver tools and resources to that effect.

For leisure, Carlos enjoys spending time traveling domestically and abroad with his wife and young daughter, practicing his faith in God, and supporting his favorite sports teams, the Atlanta Falcons and the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets.
