About the Consultant

Professional Background: Retired from ExxonMobil in 2004, after nearly 36 years, George’s career was heavily impacted by an assignment with Exxon’s Innovations Group which exposed him to Creative Problem Solving (CPS) as taught at the University of Buffalo-NY. Applying these techniques, he facilitated over 300 problem-solving sessions, serving up novel solutions and strategies for the business. His study of the process and patterns of technological change led to speaking engagements all over the country. His speaking activities have brought him in contact with various non-profit groups looking for guidance in the development of strategies to adapt to changing environments. An honors graduate of Rutgers University with a B.S. in Industrial Engineering, his career spanned a variety of product manufacturing, marketing, distribution, and customer service managerial assignments. Toward the close of his career, George became director of the Quality and Continuous Improvement efforts in ExxonMobil’s Lubricants business.

George has lived in the Houston area over 28 years, with a four-year interval in Virginia, and currently resides on Lake Conroe. He is currently on the Board of the ExxonMobil Retiree Club of West Houston and has served on various neighborhood boards.

ESCH Experience: Joining ESCH in 2009, George has mentored students at the University of Houston and worked with the Sunshine Network of New Waverly to facilitate the construction of a veteran’s memorial trail on U.S. Forest Service land north of Houston. His most recent assignment has involved strategic plan development for the Montgomery County Youth Services in Conroe, Texas.
