Become a Volunteer Consultant with ESCH
ESCH is a community that welcomes life long learners, and doers, who want to have an impact on the very fabric of our society. Your knowledge is a valuable resource that you can use to make the world, and our local Houston community, a better place to live for both ourselves and for the next generation to come.
As an ESCH consultant you will learn how to transfer your professional and personal talents to the nonprofit sector. You will learn valuable new skills, and work on projects at your own pace. You’ll form new relationships and see the impact of your know-how in our community. You will be given training on how to be an effective consultant and then asked to mentor, lead, guide, and suggest ‘best practices’ methods and to share your insight and experiences with those who respect what you have to offer—your mind. We’ll partner you with a nonprofit that has requested your help. Do I need special skills? Anyone who has professional or working skills that can help nonprofits succeed is invited to apply. Does this take much time? Projects can range from a two hour meeting and initial client consultation (less than 6 hours time) to an ongoing mentoring relationship that lasts years. You choose the projects that you take on.

The Executive Service Corps of Houston delivers unique value to our community. Experienced men and women, like you, come from responsible positions in business. They are ready to enter the "give-back" component of their careers, volunteering time, energy, and experience to help strengthen nonprofits—assisting the very sector of society that provides much needed social services to our community. They impart much needed pro bono management consulting services that help nonprofits run better through ‘best practices’ management and performance coaching. ESCH consultants work in key areas such as: education, the environment, health and human services, public policy, arts and humanities, civic and community programs, and the needs of minorities and women. We provided management seminars and one-on-one consulting services to 265 clients last year. In doing so, we made Houston a better place to live, to work, and raise families.
